That may be one of the most exciting things AI has ever told me… to think, I accidentally took a picture of the plant/flower Nawiliwili might get its name from! How cool is that!

I saw these red flowers in the distance as I was about to leave Nawiliwili Park and head back to the cruise terminal, and was fairly sure they were not more Hibiscus, but honestly, figured with my luck they were more of the flowers I had already photographed.

Being me, I’d always rather photograph more of something I have already shot, than miss capturing something… and this is a prime example of why I have that attitude. So amazing to realize that by walking an extra block I got to spend a little time in the shade of a Wiliwili tree!

(Full disclosure, it might be another red hibiscus and AI and I had a miscommunication, but either way, I had fun.)

I wasn’t the only being enjoying the shade, and wasn’t the only one startled by motion in that shade! LOL! Anyone’s guess if the chickens and roosters were more startled or if I was… but we all made nice and left one another alone.
