Nanortalik, Greenland – a view from the harbor…


I love so many aspects of this photograph. From the moody sky, to the lone person standing on a small craft in the water. For me, the only thing that would have made the shot better is if it was of the ship I was sailing on, as opposed to being taken from my ship, looking towards a port I had just spent a memorable day in.

Greenland may not be a lush green paradise like early “salesman” and advertisers tried to draw settlers in with hopes of, but it is beautiful in its own right and way.

And what a place to see Icebergs, and the beautiful Glacier Blue.

Both these photos were taken in August of 2022 during Holland America’s Voyage of the Vikings Cruise on board Zaandam, from the ship.
