In 2023 I met a gentleman who was photographing birds. His camera has an impressive lens, and I could hear the rapid fire of his shutter.
I couldn’t resist asking if he had any tips for someone who wants to snap a shot or two of the birds they see out and about… preferably in focus.
“Don’t chase them. Watch where they are flying and frame your shot so they fly in to it.” He had pointed out my rookie mistake in his first comment… I’d see a bird in flight and try to trail after it hoping to snap my shot.
I don’t know if my shots have improved as much as I feel they have… but I am probably always going to enjoy trying to photograph bird’s in flight, be they a common Sea Gull, or some bird I’ve never even heard of before.
